5. Broad Itinerary.(Refer Map)

(a) Transfer from airport to a hotel to rest and recoup and a full or half day sight seeing depending on arrival timings. (For those that have visited Delhi earlier the halt at Delhi can be minimized)

(b) The main trip starts from Delhi itself when we make a dash for Pushkar, passing through but not halting at Jaipur. Ajmer is visited en-route. Two nights amidst the colours of Pushkar can fill any ones mind with joy. Hugging the new highway we head for Chittaur and its historic fort and camp for the night astride a lovely water body. The next day also belongs to the water gods as we foray eastwards past the Vindhyachals from one beautiful water body to another and after a long drive passing through two sanctuaries and two superb water bodies rest over in a hotel. Moving on past another sanctuary and the superb Jai Samand allow ourselves a lovely night in a resort. We then spend two nights at the beautiful Udaipur as Mewar has started to grow on us. (Total 7 nights).

(c) Turning towards where the sun sets we next head for the lovely plains of the Marwar belt only to do a double take as we explore the great Aravallis and its temples and forts for three days. (Horse safari is an alternative for these three days and to be preferred here to the bikes. The fourth day from Udaipur sees us in Jodhpur and then we next head straight for Jaisalmer at its surroundings. Two nights at Jaisalmer and we next head for Bikaner, soak it in over half a day and thence direct to Jaipur. A night and half day at Jaipur and heads turn for Delhi. [Total 8 nights).

(d) A night and a day at Dehi and the next flight home awaits us even as we already make up our minds to return for another exciting trip.
