Safari Escapade –VII – (Horse area, modifiable for biking). Southern Mewar – where pretty lakes, low Aravalli hills and the black soiled Malwa belt touch each other and the culture of the region thrives. Ideal riding country side. 9 days of adventure and fun within Rajasthan.(Refer Map)

We leave Delhi for Udaipur by morning flight. We rest over at Udaipur for a day and a night and use this time to see this glorious and picturesque city steeped in history and a repository of much of Rajastani culture.

Day 2, 3, 4 and 5 from Delhi. South-east of Udaipur is the Jaisamand Wild Life Sanctuary. We head for it and after spending good time driving reach the shore of this huge lake near Borba. We meet our majestic and captivating friends from the equine species – the great Marwari horses that will be our steeds on this Escapade. We also venture out in a boat on the lake. The next day we ride eastwards with gusto keeping the distances a little less on the first two days. We camp near Lasaria and the next day ride on to camp in a quit area a few km south of Bansi. A long ride the next day takes to the Sitamata Temple and the Sitamata Sancuary. After a long days hard yet very interesting riding we arrive at Choti Sadri for a night over.

Days 6, 7 and 8. The next day is also long though our direction is reversed and we head back from the black soiled Malwa belt back towards the Aravallis. We ride to Bari Sadri to see its ancient palace and then go on to spend the night a few km away at the Boheda Rawla. After being charmed by our hosts there we head north-east to Bhindar located in the Chappan Hills. Bhindar is a craftsman delight and there will be a lot to see that evening. n/o at Bhindar Rawla. The last days ride to Bambora is an easy paced one but we reach a great heritage resort where we relax and recoup. The Bambora Fort is a delight to see. The night is spent at Bambora.

Days 9.. Move by road to Udaipur after an early breakfast and we catch up with what we missed about the lovely city before taking the flight next morning to Delhi.

At Delhi we spend the day resting or shopping and then head for the airport to take the flight back home.
